Welding Engineer in Doncaster

We are recruiting a qualified Welding Engineer on behalf of a specialist heavy engineering contractor. In this role you will ensure all welding activities meet technical, quality, and safety standards. This role involves procedure development, inspection oversight, and coordination with production and quality teams on specialist fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and qualify WPS and PQRs to industry codes.

• Oversee welder qualifications and coordinate welding activities across projects.

• Conduct inspections and interpret NDT results (visual, radiographic, etc.).

• Support root cause investigations and quality improvements.

• Liaise with clients, inspectors, and internal teams on welding requirements.

• Maintain full documentation and traceability for welding operations.

Requirements:

• IWE (International Welding Engineer)

• CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector

• PCN Level 2 in Radiographic Interpretation or equivalent

• HNC/HND or higher in Mechanical/Welding Engineering

• Experience in heavy fabrication

• Strong knowledge of welding codes

Desirable:

• Knowledge of ISO 14731 (Welding Coordination)

• Familiarity with multi-process welding and high-integrity materials

• Strong communication and report-writing skills
