JN Technical is recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager (*remote based*) on behalf of a UK steel fabricator. In this role, you will be responsible for driving new business opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients within the steel fabrication industry. You will play a key role in expanding the client base by identifying market trends, generating leads, and developing strategies to achieve sales targets. You will have a strong background in steel fabrication with a proven ability to develop and execute business growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the commercial, industrial and energy sectors.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent service and support throughout the sales process.
  • Conduct regular client meetings, site visits, and presentations to showcase company capabilities.
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts and performance reports to monitor progress against targets and identify areas for improvement.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to raise the company’s profile and build industry relationships.
  • Support ongoing customer service efforts by troubleshooting client concerns and ensuring prompt issue resolution.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the steel fabrication industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the UK steel fabrication market, including relevant sectors.
  • Skills: Proven ability to generate new business and manage client relationships. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong organisation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Education: HND/HNC in a technical or engineering related subject (preferred).
  • Travel: This is a remote based position. Applicants must be willing to travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry events across the UK.
