Engineering is at the very core of what we do. Be it civil, mechanical or electrical, our engineers are based on site and play a practical, hands-on role in the successful delivery of projects.

We secured our first contract with Severn Trent at the beginning of AMP5 in 2009. Two AMPs later and Severn Trent has grown to become our largest client in terms of turnover. We’ve laid strong roots in the area, working from offices at Shifnal in the West Midlands, but delivering work across the Severn Trent patch. 420 colleagues are based in the region, in all roles from frontline construction to commercial management, operations to design.

Our current AMP7 frameworks have been rolled over into AMP8 (to 2030), securing our place in the region for many years to come. You will be joining our long-established civils and MEICA team in the Midlands, working solely on water projects for our prestigious client Severn Trent Water throughout the South Birmingham, Worcester and Gloucester region.

As part of your job, you will create the commissioning strategy from the ground up and make sure that the project's process outputs are produced safely, in accordance with the design, client requirements, regulatory outputs, and all environmental restrictions.

The role of a Commissioning engineer includes:

  • Commissioning services including documentation, liaising with suppliers and facilitating contractor commissioning and assisting the project team with project completions.
  • Work within the team of mechanical, EICA and commissioning engineers to develop best practice, a strong health & safety environment and value for money.
  • Wastewater projects incorporating new build and refurbishment on apparatus such as inlet works, course screens with screen handling units, grit separation & classifiers, fine screens, chemical dosing, dewatering & secondary treatment plant etc.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data to analyse problems and find solutions.
  • Provide process and control expertise for delivery teams within UU framework.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience of installation & wastewater commissioning in the utility sector.
  • Experience with planning the commissioning process cradle to grave.
  • Working to safe systems of work including producing and reviewing third party Risk Assessments & Method Statements.
  • Ability to demonstrate evidence of design improvements of process related equipment and plant.
  • Full UK driving licence.

What’s in it for you:

Alongside our significant training and development investment, bespoke progression plan and support to achieve professional chartership, we offer a wide range of financial, lifestyle, health and wellbeing benefits that you can tailor to your needs.
