A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Document Controller:
- Manage the quality check process for documents.
- Ensure correction of any typographical/formatting errors that may lead to the disqualification of the document.
- Assist in the creation and maintain distribution lists, workflows, and review cycles.
- Ensure there are no errors in filenames before submission of electronic files.
- Ensure the reason for change is recorded when documents are revised.
- Assist in the collation and issue of project/site 'start-up' packs.
- Assist in the management of change by ensuring documents are processed correctly, made available to the commercial team, and linked to the contract documents via CDE where a tool allows.
- Assist in the collation and issue of handover documentation (O&M manuals, H&S files, as-built records, databooks, completion packs etc.).
- Assist with the development and training of document controllers and assistant document controllers.
- Provide Aconex training for all project staff within 5 working days of starting.
- Manage the site scanning of documents and records, ensuring legibility and traceability.
- Assist with archiving of documents, ensuring legibility and traceability.
- Undertake audits/reviews as required.
- Ensure optimum performance of DC team for the portfolio of work, undertaking reviews for gains in efficiency.
- Ensure the workload and workflows are monitored on a regular basis, reporting results to Document Control Manager.
- Keep informed of any changes to BS1192 & PAS1192 and any other standards relating to document control.
