Murphy is recruiting for a Data Analyst to work with Murphy Plant at the Leeds Plant. Murphy Plant is committed to delivering a plant hire service that is simple, safe, efficient and reliable. We manage and maintain more than £100 million worth of innovative, best in-class plant, transport and specialist equipment and our work spans multiple sectors. Our inventory includes over 15,000 assets, ranging from small tools to piling rigs, alongside our award-winning vehicle fleet which includes one of the UK’s most comprehensive collections of crawler cranes. Our broad range of equipment also includes specialist assets for ground engineering, pipeline testing, tunnelling, rail and more.
The Data Analyst role will support the design, build, and management of the data reporting outputs, and producing data-driven insights across the supporting functions. The role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining systems, integrations and digital solutions.
A day in the life of a Murphy Data Analyst:
- Working as part of the Digital Transformation team to drive continuous improvement through actionable insights.
- Working closely with business reporting stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements to acquire and present relevant datasets.
- Handle large and complex datasets from key construction/plant hire centric systems (Dynamics365 Finance and Operations, SAP SuccessFactors, Syrinx and others).
- Create Data Pipelines into the Data & Analytics platform using traditional Extraction, Transform and Load (ETL) concepts.
- Interacting with Key Systems owners and managers to facilitate data acquisition.
- Identify areas to increase efficiency and optimise data collection processes by developing integration pipelines.
- Verify the integrity of extracted data, including schema, format, checksum/hashing.
- Awareness of, and support embedding and applying revised Data Governance and Information Security standards and best practices.
- Help establish good working practices for the work delivered and SQL environments (dev/test/production), documented appropriately.
- Support data-driven decision-making across departments.
- Project work to be allocated as required, during the duration of the project.
- Manage and administer data ingestion (migration) plans including migration risk, milestones, quality and business sign-off details.
- Support in the analysis of fleet telematics and machine data to drive improved performance and efficiencies.
- Support in the analysis of asset performance to influence future investment and asset management process.
- Providing user training, support and feedback as required.
