The Compliance Project Manager (EHV/HV -11KV Circuit Network, iDNO/DNO Experience) Control Engineer (Electricity) role involves:
- Network Operations management
- Faults and Maintenance
- Network control daily management
- Administrative duties relating to the electricity network distribution management system
The SAP Control Engineer (Electricity) is responsible for:
- Network operations and documentation management of all Electricity asset and network operations
- Ensuring all safety and engineering standards are met
- Controlling network operations, faults, emergencies, administration records, and standards of design, construction, operation, and maintenance of electric distribution networks (DSRs Safety Rules)
Key activities include:
- Delivery of all EHV/HV -11KV Circuit/LV network operations and control activities
- Knowledge on Switching on DNO/iDNO and private network EHV and HV networks
- Issuing and receiving safety documents on the iDNO networks
- Undertaking engineering studies, O&Ms, technical specifications
- Project management of large-scale Data Centres and Battery Storage sites
- Being the primary point of contact for on-site engineers
- Developing scoping documentation and Main Connections or Protection Diagrams (MC&P)
- Specifying and managing related equipment and plant such as relays, CTs, and VTs
- Reviewing and assessing detailed designs including SLDs, AC/DC schematics, and protection systems
- Site witnessing to commissioning and attending relevant activities
- Investigating and reporting on defects and mis-operations
- Contract management and assigning appropriate work skills
- Supporting standby and out of hours coverage of electricity faults and emergencies
Requirements:
- Experience working within electrical operations EHV, HV 33-11KV Circuit, and LV systems
- Previous experience in design or commissioning of power system protection at a distribution level
- Knowledge of UK electrical practices and standards
- General knowledge of Standard ICP or Electricity construction
- Good knowledge of network operation and maintenance
- Engineering, H&S relevant competency qualification to City & Guilds level required
- Good knowledge and experience of working in electricity distribution networks
- Procurement, tendering, and management of major service and refurbishment contracts
- A high regard for safety with demonstrable experience of risk mitigation on iDNO networks
- Demonstrable knowledge of electrical distribution network design and construction standards
- Understanding of CDM regulations and the role of principal engineer
- Experience in Utilities engineering and construction of Electrical would be advantageous
- Understanding of faults, emergency, Non-Conformance reporting with Root Cause Analysis Knowledge, Inspection & Test Plans & Quality Plans
