A day in the life of a Murphy Temporary Works Design Engineer involves undertaking engineering designs on a wide range of temporary works schemes across the full portfolio of Murphy projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Representing the MAE team in collaborative project team meetings.
  • Undertaking site visits when appropriate.
  • Working collaboratively with other engineers within the group to produce the best engineered solution to temporary works problems.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • HND/Bachelor/Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • An engineer that is working towards Chartership with either the ICE or the IStructE.
  • A design engineer with the capability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • A good communicator with a desire to develop relationships across the company.
  • A person with an open-minded approach to solving civil and structural engineering challenges to find the best solution from all perspectives of a project.
  • A person keen to visit the company’s sites and offices across the country.
