Overview
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Design Engineer:
- Representing the MAE team in collaborative project team meetings.
- Reporting to the team Senior/ Principal Design Engineer or Senior Engineering Manager.
- Carrying out civil/ structural designs.
- Undertaking site visits when appropriate.
- Collating feedback on solutions and contributing to lessons learned meetings.
- Preparing appropriate fully integrated permanent works proposals/solutions to meet the company's bid and project delivery stage requirements.
- Mentoring of junior staff and graduates within MAE.
Qualifications
- HND/ Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- A designer who is proficient in, at least, concrete and steelwork design using both software and by hand using relevant design standards and eurocodes.
- A designer with the capability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
- A good communicator with a desire to develop relationships across the company.
- A person with an open-minded approach to solving civil and structural engineering challenges to find the best solution from all perspectives of a project.
- A person keen to visit the company's sites and offices.
- Working towards chartership with ICE/ IStructE.
