A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Quantity Surveyor includes:
- Encouraging and developing a culture of commercial awareness within the team.
- Ensuring the site team adheres to group procedures and governance.
- Composing internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
- Devising Valuations/Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract.
- Constructing Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
- Administering subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
- Preparing and managing subcontract and material procurement schedules.
- Undertaking contract administration, including change management and maintaining associated registers.
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change.
- Using cost allocation/coding that satisfies both internal and external requirements.
- Measuring quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required.
- Positive engagement with Client equivalent position and development, motivation.
