A day in the life of a Murphy Environmental Advisor involves advising and aiding Managers and Supervisors to discharge their Health & Safety responsibilities towards employees as defined by Legislation and Company procedure. You will ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, providing advice as and when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing assistance to management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the SHESQ Plans.
  • Carrying out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure, analysing all data, and making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
  • Managing and collating data on SHESQ related issues to find areas for continuous improvement through trends and data analysis.
  • Assisting and managing the audit programme; carrying out audits when required.
  • Participating in working groups/forums as required.
  • Participating in the work of committees and joint consultations affecting the workforce as required.
  • Monitoring equipment.
  • Implementing Best Practice and actively seeking innovations to introduce into the Business Unit.

Previous experience within a SHES advisor position is essential, along with experience in civil engineering/construction. SHES Membership, i.e., NEBOSH qualified, MS package knowledge, and a solid understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001, 14001, and BS OHSAS 18001 standards are also required. You must be able to drive and travel to support business needs.
