A day in the life of a Murphy Surveyor includes:

  • Installing and verifying site control networks.
  • Carrying out topographical surveys and setting out activities.
  • Conducting terrestrial laser scanning and managing point cloud data.
  • Supporting utility survey teams with data capture, QA, and coordination.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate field records and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Confident using GNSS equipment, total stations, and laser scanners.
  • Experience working with survey software such as N4CE, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or Leica Cyclone.
  • UAV experience (LiDAR and/or photogrammetry).
  • Familiarity with machine control systems and earthworks volume management.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with project teams and subcontractors.
