Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Estimator to work with Transportation, initially in Leeds on the TRUe project for 6-12 months, then at the Transportation head office in Wigan supporting the wider business unit.

A day in the life of a Senior Murphy Estimator
- Establish and promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.
- Attend project start-up meetings and conduct site visits.
- Produce enquiry schedules for scope of works & packages required from tender documentation, drawings, and specifications.
- Identify tender deliverables required from Project Designers.
- Evaluate quotations from suppliers and correspond with them to align quotations with project specifications.
- Prepare BOQ for project scopes using estimating software such as Excel, Causeway, CCS Candy, and Kubus.
- Contribute to the project risk register and attend risk meetings with estimators, planning engineers, design coordinators, and client representatives.
- Participate in tender price settlement meetings and tender handover meetings with the project team.
- Prepare commercial documents for tender handover.
- Adhere to JMS Quality and Health & Safety Management Systems.
- Support the Estimating Manager in fostering collaboration and developing solutions.
- Work with the site commercial team to ensure budgets and programs reflect actual delivery experiences.
- Make tender amendments based on client feedback.
- Respond to tender queries from the project team.
- Review contract details with Contract Managers and Senior Management to assess delivery capabilities.
- Assess tender documents for scope, risks, and complexity, providing feedback to the Estimating Manager.
