The Operations Engineer/Senior Engineer is responsible for overseeing the processing, planning, quality, operation, and maintenance of Waste Water supply and distribution systems to ensure the delivery of clean, safe, and sustainable water services. This role involves managing processes, procedures of the NAV business, site inspections, resource alignment, regulatory compliance, and optimizing the efficiency of the water networks.

A day in the life of a mua Waste Water Operations/Senior Engineer includes:

• Proactive management of daily wastewater and clean water network operations, including connections, sampling, testing, inspections, monitoring, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with company procedures and making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Managing maintenance, faults, and emergency logs to improve outputs with service providers.
• Supporting and managing the CRMC clean water process, routine maintenance, inspection programs, raising purchase orders, and addressing issues with escalation reports involving SLPs and developers.
• Providing operational support and resolving queries from site developers, contractors, and service providers.
• Ensuring proper documentation and quality of services providers’ connections and commissioning documents.
• Ensuring compliance with UK water quality standards and regulations, including Ofwat, the Environment Agency, and DWI, with accurate record-keeping and reporting.
• Monitoring water quality, implementing treatment solutions, and maintaining safety protocols per UK legislation.
• Overseeing infrastructure maintenance, repairs, and replacements, including pumping stations, pipelines, attenuation, and sewers.
• Implementing contingency plans for water emergencies, supply disruptions, droughts, or contamination incidents aligned with UK emergency frameworks.
• Maintaining asset management records, document control, and network asset records to meet industry, regulatory, and legislative standards.
• Conducting technical and safety audits, inspections, and maintaining records for assets, authorizations, and testing pre- and post-construction.

• Experience as a Waste Water Engineer
• Understanding of Non-Conformance reporting, Root Cause Analysis, Inspection & Test Plans, and Quality Plans
• Auditing experience with ISO 9001:2015 standards
• Knowledge of water distribution networks
• Familiarity with WIRS SLP Water construction standards
• Experience managing site inspections and auditing records
• Operation and maintenance record management
