Description
Work with the Collectives Research Team to produce and manage a comprehensive list of preferred funds. The job holder will have good knowledge of both open and closed-ended funds, including passive products. The role will involve dealing with and providing a service to the investment network, answering queries and ensuring that the firm’s databases are up to date and accurate.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Collective Team to develop and manage a consistent approach to external funds by researching existing and generating new ideas, and to provide support to the investment network
- Liaise with the Investment Office and members of the Collectives Committee to maximise the sharing of research resources
- Assist with JM Finn’s Sustainable and ESG research processes
- Maintain fund rationales
- Ensure that portfolios hold the most appropriate share/unit classes, including assisting with the onboarding of new clients and portfolios
- Participate in the Morning Meetings as required and to provide written copy for relevant investment commentaries
- Participate in the Asset Allocation Committee
- Provide copy for publications as required by the Marketing Department
- Help with the maintenance of existing relationships with Introducers of business to JM Finn and to assist in the development of new relationships, as agreed with the Sales and Marketing Departments
- Keep up to date with market & investment information and maintain a working knowledge of relevant professional developments, ensuring that these are acted upon in the clients’, investors’ and the Company’s interests
- Ensure that the governance arrangements supporting fund selection are appropriate
- Ensure that the FCA’s Consumer Duty requirements are embedded within the fund selection process
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- CFA Level 3 or equivalent
- Educated to degree level
- At least 5 years’ experience in the investment industry, mainly in Fund Management
- Excellent inter-personal and communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Up to date knowledge of markets, asset-classes, and stocks/ funds
- Evidence of performance positive track record in contributing to the selection of collective investments
