Role Description
The Kitchen and Bathroom Sales Designer is a full-time role based across territorial area's, West Midlands and surrounding with flexibility for some work from home. The role involves meeting with clients in the showroom and remotely to understand their requirements, budgets, and styles, and translating these into creative, functional kitchen and bathroom designs. Day-to-day tasks include preparing detailed design proposals, using design software to create layouts and visualizations, and presenting solutions that align with J M A Group’s standards and product offerings. The Sales Designer will manage the full sales cycle: generating and following up leads, preparing quotations, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring a smooth handover from design to installation. The role also includes maintaining product knowledge, contributing to showroom displays, and delivering an excellent customer experience that supports repeat business and referrals.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong customer-facing skills, including Communication and Customer Service, with the ability to consult, present designs, and build long-term client relationships.
- Relevant experience in kitchen and bathroom design, interior design, or retail design sales, ideally within a KBB (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom) or home improvement environment.
- Proficiency with design tools (e.g., CAD or specialist KBB software), basic measurement skills, and an understanding of layout, ergonomics, and practical installation considerations.
- Knowledge of materials, fixtures, fittings, appliances, and current design trends, with the ability to recommend products that suit different budgets and specifications.
- Strong commercial awareness, including quotation preparation, upselling and cross-selling, and working to sales targets while maintaining a consultative approach.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client projects, follow processes, and coordinate with design, installation, and trade teams.
