At J L Brooks, we’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and confident person to join our office team in Leeds.
We’re an established wholesale business supplying drinks, snacks and everyday products to customers across the region.
We’re proud of the friendly, down-to‑earth atmosphere we’ve built over the years. Many of our team have been with us for a long time, and we think that says a lot about the kind of place we are.
Our office is relaxed, there’s always a bit of friendly banter, and everyone works together to get the job done.
We’re now looking for another friendly face (and voice!) to join our team.
What’s the job all about?
Quite simply, it’s about talking to people, looking after our customers and helping our business grow.
Many of our regular customers have been dealing with us for years. We know them well, they know us, and some feel more like friends than customers.
You’ll become one of the familiar voices they enjoy hearing from.
You’ll spend your day:
- Chatting with customers over the phone and taking their regular orders
- Getting to know customers and building genuine, lasting relationships
- Helping customers choose products and letting them know about new arrivals and special offers
- Spotting opportunities to increase sales and earn extra commission
- Processing orders and keeping customer details up to date
- Working closely with the rest of our friendly office and warehouse teams
- Helping us look after existing customers and develop new business
It’s a busy and varied role, but you’ll have a supportive team around you.
Who would be a great fit?
We’re looking for someone with a friendly personality, a positive attitude and the confidence to pick up the phone and have a conversation. You don’t need to be a pushy salesperson. In fact, that’s not really our style. We’d love someone who:
- Enjoys talking to people and has a naturally friendly manner
- Is confident, enthusiastic and brings a bit of personality to work
- Can have a laugh while still getting the job done
- Takes pride in providing good customer service
- Is organised, reliable and comfortable using a computer
- Has good commercial awareness and enjoys achieving results
- Wants to learn, improve and become a valued member of the team
Previous telesales, customer service or office experience would be useful, but we’re more interested in finding the right person than the perfect CV.
Experience using Sage would be an advantage, although it’s not essential.

We’re ideally looking for someone full‑time, although part‑time hours may also be considered for the right people.
