The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
Our processing plant and team of operatives are growing, and as a result, we need to expand our team of plant engineers to be able to carry out proactive preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to our plant machinery on the night shift.
The role includes:
- Carrying out inspection and service routines, repairs and testing of machinery to provide operational continuity.
- Planning and undertaking routine and preventive maintenance works as required, liaising with relevant managers to ensure necessary staffing and operational arrangements have been made.
- Investigating and diagnosing faults, reporting findings and carrying out all repairs to manufacturer’s standards.
- Directing and assisting in the cleaning of the MRF in all areas and removing waste within the plant to allow safe and effective maintenance to be carried out.
- Providing guidance and support to junior colleagues to aid their development.
Shift patterns available: Monday to Thursday, 8pm to 6am OR Tuesday to Friday, 8pm to 6am (1 vacancy per shift).
What you need:
- Relevant qualification in mechanical engineering or similar field, or compensating work experience.
- Significant experience in a similar role within a workshop environment.
- Experience repairing and maintaining heavy plant machinery.
- Ability to diagnose problems and identify preventative measures.
- Proficient in diagnosis and repairs to hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships at all levels.
- Welding training and experience would be beneficial, but not essential.
- Experience working with the recycling, waste, or comparable plant industries would be advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided.
The package includes:
- Competitive rate of pay, depending on experience.
- 37 hours per week / 4 nights per week, either Mon‑Thu or Tue‑Fri (1 vacancy per shift).
