We are growing our team of machine drivers! We need experienced operators with experience operating mobile plant machinery, including loading shovels and material handler.
Role
- Operating a range of mobile plant machinery as instructed and in line with training
- Completing daily assigned work schedule
- Carrying out daily recorded checks and basic maintenance on the machines to keep in good working order
- Loading various waste streams and grades in correct bays and processing areas to maximise recycling and recovery
- Checking incoming loads to ensure compliance with site licence and permitted waste types
- Assisting in the collection and sorting of materials where required to maintain general housekeeping in the yard
What You Need
- Experience and competence operating a loading shovel and material handler and willingness to train on other machines
- Mobile plant operator card or certificate of basic training is desirable
- Previous experience working in the waste industry would be advantageous
- Basic knowledge of health and safety requirements in an industrial/processing setting
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high-volume operation
- Ability to work proactively and problem solve
Package
- From £33,345 per annum DOE
- 47.5 hours, Monday to Friday 7:00am–5:30pm
- 1 in 2 Saturdays, 7:00am–12:00pm (paid as extra)
- 28 days annual leave, including bank holidays, rising with service
