  • Starting salary of £29,013
  • 40‑hour working week

The Role

As a shift manager, you will be responsible for supporting the pub manager in the day‑to‑day running of the pub.

  • Training, leading, supporting and motivating the team
  • When running a shift, taking responsibility for the pub’s operation, including compliance with company operating standards and legislation, managing customers, administration and cash management
  • Prioritising tasks, delegating and problem‑solving
  • Working a variety of shifts across the week (including front of house and in the kitchen)
  • Delivering high standards in all areas: cleanliness, product quality, customer service, maintenance and atmosphere

You will need to ensure that the bar, kitchen, cellar, toilets, front and back of house are cleaned and maintained throughout the day, in accordance with company guidelines, adopting the company’s clean‑as‑you‑go (CAYG) philosophy. There will be a lot for you to learn, but we are confident that, with the right outlook, commitment and training, you will have the opportunity to succeed.

There’s a great deal more of which you’ll be a part, including dealing with office administration, managing cash, controlling stock and receiving deliveries. As long as you have the drive and commitment, we will train you, on every aspect of the job, through our award‑winning training programme.

Hours

Hours per week: 40 hours. Monday to Sunday: flexible.
