Role Overview
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial and project delivery teams in the effective financial and contractual management of civil engineering works across the Severn Trent Water programme. This role provides hands-on experience within a dynamic and fast-moving environment, offering a clear pathway for career development into more senior commercial roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, submission, and management of monthly applications for payment and supporting documentation
- Support the preparation and agreement of subcontract orders, variations, and final accounts
- Undertake measurement of works, site visits, and maintaining accurate records
- Assist with cost forecasting, budget monitoring, and financial reporting
- Support the commercial team in managing risk, change control, and contract administration under NEC contracts
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure commercial alignment
- Contribute to procurement activities, including tender evaluations and comparisons
- Maintain compliance with company procedures
Experience with commercial systems is an advantage. A proactive, organised, and collaborative approach to work is essential. Full UK driving licence (site travel required).
