We are recruiting a Class 2 HGV driver to work from our Rochford base. JCS provides a range of services to our clients, including haulage, groundworks, fencing, general site maintenance, street furniture installation, and installation of digital advertising.

In this role, you will be working as part of our internal team delivering goods and street furniture to our own operated sites or collecting and delivering clients' items to the required locations in a timely, professional manner whilst driving responsibly and safely within the law at all times.

The ideal candidate will need to have up-to-date CPC and digital tacho card. Experience in using a Hiab is preferred, although training will be provided if you do not have a current ALLMI or equivalent card. The role includes unloading on the roadside next to active highways within our own working sites, so experience and knowledge in this area would be an advantage. This role will at times require travelling to sites nationwide, and occasionally overnight stays. Hotels and stay-away allowance will be provided in this situation.

Skills required:

  • Experience working within a HGV loading and unloading environment is essential
  • Class 2 driving licence, Driver CPC with a minimum of 35 hours completed and valid Digital Tachograph card
  • HIAB experience or valid ALLMI Card (or equivalent)
  • A solid understanding of Health & Safety protocols and the ability to follow these guidelines at all times
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • You will be required to work within the framework of JCS H&S Policy and accompanying legislation and codes of practice
  • Maintain and safeguard the tools and equipment

Candidates must be reliable, good with timekeeping, and must be a team player. General working hours are between 6am to 4pm Monday to Friday (night works are sometimes needed to meet project demands; these will be requested as and when required with advanced notice).
