Duties:

– Perform routine planned maintenance and running repairs on our fleet of heavy haulage tractor units, trailers and rigid crane vehicles.

– Maintenance and repairs of selected third party customer vehicles.

– Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues

– Conduct inspections and test drive vehicles to identify problems

– Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose issues

– Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area

– Keep detailed records of all repairs and maintenance performed

Requirements:

– Proven experience as a HGV mechanic maintaining a fleet of a similar nature.

– Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components

– Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment ( training available)

– Excellent problem-solving skills

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team

– Good communication skills to explain complex technical issues to customers

– Attention to detail and strong organizational skill

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000k per year depending on experience

Benefits:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime available
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Irlam: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • HGV class 1 Driving Licence required for road testing and MOT testing
