About the role:
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Controller / Materials Planner to join our team based at the JCB World Parts Centre in Uttoxeter. This state-of-the-art facility is the global hub for JCB’s aftermarket parts distribution, supporting customers and dealers around the world with rapid and reliable parts supply.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning and expediting parts to meet market demands, managing a complex supply chain with precision and urgency. Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent cross-functional communication are essential for success in this high-visibility position.
What does this role involve day to day?
- Ensuring continuity of parts supply for aftermarket operations
- Planning material requirements and expediting from a diverse supply base in line with system needs
- Managing inventory levels using lean principles
- Proactively reviewing supplier performance and driving continuous improvement
- Maintaining performance against key KPIs
- Leading problem-solving and process improvement initiatives
- Ensuring timely delivery of materials from suppliers
This will be suited to you if
- You have experience in materials planning or inventory control
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You possess strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables essential)
- You are a well-organised approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- You have the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
