About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Estate & Gamekeeping Assistant to join our team at Bamford Property Limited on the Wootton Estate based in Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a business that values sustainability and environmental responsibility.

What does this role involve day to day?

  • General ground maintenance, including grass cutting and strimming
  • Fencing and upkeep of release pens and estate boundaries
  • Tractor driving and operation of large farm machinery
  • Rearing and caring for pheasants and partridges
  • Feeding and dogging-in duties
  • Assisting with beating during shoots
  • Daily livestock supervision and animal welfare
  • Preparing feed and water supplies for livestock
  • Loading and unloading resources within the work area
  • Monitoring and maintaining health and safety standards
  • Maintaining equipment and general animal husbandry

About you:

We are seeking a proactive individual who can work independently and as part of a team. You will bring energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Chainsaw qualifications (CS30 & CS31)
  • Strimming and spraying qualifications (NTPC)
  • Experience in rearing game birds (desirable)
  • Experience of working with gun dogs
  • Competence in operating large farm machinery (tractors and material handlers)
  • Strong attention to animal welfare and safety
