About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team based in Cheadle. This role plays a key part in supporting the financial performance and decision-making across our Earthmovers division, with additional exposure to Landpower.
Working closely with the Assistant Finance Controller (AFC), you’ll be instrumental in month‑end close processes, financial reporting, and cost reduction activities.
This role offers the chance to step into a well‑established and high‑impact position within the business.
What Does This Role Involve Day to Day?
- Preparing monthly operating cost and capital reports, alongside forecast management
- Reviewing reports to identify key drivers of performance and explain variances
- Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process, including modelling, analysis, reporting, and submission
- Analysing financial information using established processes, applying technical knowledge and sound judgement
- Assisting with monthly and year‑end accounting processes to support statutory requirements
- Maintaining transfer pricing arrangements
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
- Providing analytical support to the wider Finance team, including ad hoc analysis to inform business decisions
- Supporting preparation for statutory returns
- Partnering with operational teams to drive cost control and performance improvements
This Will Be Suited to You If:
- You are part‑qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or working towards qualification
- You have strong SAP experience (desirable)
- You possess advanced Excel skills and are confident handling large datasets
- You have strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights
- You’re an effective communicator, able to influence stakeholders across the business
- You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working cross‑functionally
- You bring an innovative mindset, continuously looking for ways to improve processes and add value
- You’re keen to develop others and play a role in building future finance talent
