Are you passionate about driving real change and helping organisations create a more sustainable future? We’re looking for an Environment & Sustainability Advisor who can turn ambition into action—championing sustainable practices, supporting operational teams, and guiding the organisation toward reduced environmental impact and long‑term positive change. In this role, you’ll play a central part in developing and delivering our environmental and sustainability initiatives. Working closely with teams across the business, you’ll embed sustainable thinking into daily operations, promote best practice, and ensure compliance with environmental standards and legislation. You’ll be hands‑on in supporting project teams, conducting site inspections, delivering training, advising on risk mitigation, and helping implement key initiatives such as carbon reduction, waste management, ecology protection, and pollution prevention.
About Browne: Browne Group is a leading utilities contractor specialising in the water and civil engineering sectors. We deliver complex, sustainable solutions that enhance public infrastructure, improve network resilience, and reduce environmental impact. Our industry-leading digital approach to project management and quality control ensures consistent delivery to the highest standards. Our expertise spans infrastructure, non-infrastructure, and maintenance services across the water and wastewater sectors. We deliver civil engineering works including pipelines, pumping stations and reservoirs; MEICA solutions covering mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation; and long-term maintenance programmes that support asset reliability and operational efficiency. This integrated capability enables us to meet diverse client needs across the full asset lifecycle. Browne is a subsidiary of Renew Holdings plc, a leading UK Engineering Services business. The Group operates through independently branded subsidiaries across UK and European markets, delivering essential infrastructure maintenance and renewal through its highly skilled, directly employed workforce.
What We’re Looking For: We’re seeking someone with the knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to make an immediate impact. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- A genuine passion for environmental issues, sustainability, and continuous professional development
- Understanding of environmental risk mitigation on construction projects (waste, water, pollution, ecology, licensing, biodiversity net gain, contaminated land, statutory nuisance)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in environmental management, sustainability, or a related field
- Experience supporting construction or infrastructure projects
- Confidence collecting, analysing, and reporting on environmental data
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and engaging briefings
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Degree in an environmental or sustainability discipline
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Membership of ISEP, or an equivalent body
- Internal environmental auditor qualification
If you’re ready to use your expertise to influence positive change and help shape a more sustainable future, we’d love to hear from you.
