Location: Working out of our Bexley Depot, but site based across Kent, Sussex, and Hampshire
The works are spread across the South East of England between Kent to Hampshire, and so the candidate needs to be ok with regularly travelling long distances to sites.

Technical Specification
- Experience in clean water storage reservoir maintenance works would be a benefit.
- Knowledge of industry repair methods such as concrete joint repairs, waterproofing, membrane installation, drainage installation, pipework installations & modifications.

- EUSR National Water Hygiene Card.
- Full Driving License.
- SMSTS or SSSTS.
Desirable Qualifications
- Confined Space Medium Risk Training.
- Temp Works Supervisor.
- Cat & Genny / Safe digging training.

Role Purpose
- To supervise construction activities that take place on a day-to-day basis at various clean water storage reservoir sites.
- To ensure the successful completion of the works under your supervision, and that all activities undertaken on site are carried out to the highest practicable health, safety, and quality standards.
- To ensure that works are delivered to programme delivery dates.
Role Summary
Operational
- Ensure current and future work activities are planned and resources (labour, plant, and material) are available.
- Build and develop the team to deliver all aspects of the project requirements.
- Provide, monitor, and control, labour, plant and materials to meet the programme.
- Monitor and instruct Subcontractor and Direct workforce, identifying training requirements and ensuring only trained, competent and authorised persons are completing assigned tasks and operating equipment and plant.
- Ensure delivery of briefings including start of shift, method statements, risk assessments and regular toolbox talks covering appropriate health, safety and environmental issues are recorded and understood by your teams.
- To ensure that works are being undertaken as detailed in the method statement and in accordance with the risk assessment for the task.
- Assist with working method and outputs for production of method statements and programme.
- To ensure that permits are received and completed and that controls are in place.
- Ensure accurate, legible, and up to date allocation sheets are recorded and provided at end of shift with delivery tickets and plant returns completed.
- Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes/variations, subcontractors’ attendance, and records of work-related discussions with the client.
- Ensure that plant, equipment, and vehicle inspections are carried out, and defects are reported immediately.
- Interpret and apply engineering & stat drawings.
Health & Safety
- Under the Health & Safety at Work Act you must take reasonable care of yourself and others who may be affected by your activities at work, must cooperate with J Browne and must not intentionally or recklessly misuse anything provided for your health and safety.
- Ensure that the workplace under your supervision is kept tidy and safe access routes for both plant and people are maintained.
- Remain aware of the arrangements implemented with other Contractors and Subcontractors to avoid confusion about areas of responsibility.
- Ensure hazardous materials are stored, handled, used and disposed of in accordance with the COSHH assessment.
- Ensure that employees are not required, instructed or permitted to take unnecessary risks, or to undertake task activities that exceed their capability and capacity.
- Stop any activity which is considered to be unsafe and only allowing to restart when it is safe to do so.
- Report all health and safety incidents, including near misses and injuries, immediately, and assist with any incident investigations.
- Carry out regular safety inspections and implement recommended courses of action as identified from progress monitoring and management inspections.
Environmental
- Comply with environmental legislation and company procedures.
- Control and monitor site waste.
- Ensure that dust and other nuisances are kept to a minimum.
- Report all environmental incidents immediately and assist with any incident investigations.
- Carry out regular environmental inspections and implement recommended courses of action as identified from progress monitoring and management inspections.
Quality
- Monitor quality standards on site ensuring high standard of works to meet the specification requirements.
- ‘First time’ and minimise rework.
- Identify and report non-conformances.
- Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post.
