Environment
The Haulage Coordinator is responsible for converting project, site, supplier, and broker requirements into a stable, execution-ready haulage plan.
This role owns daily and weekly haulage planning, material movement coordination, broker readiness, supplier alignment, and escalation discipline.
The Haulage Coordinator protects the live dispatch function by ensuring the plan is clear before execution begins, exceptions are resolved quickly, and administrative closeout requirements are coordinated with the appropriate support teams.
- How you will make an IMPACT
- Build and maintain daily/weekly haulage plans for trucks, materials, suppliers, drivers, and brokers based on business needs and capacity.
- Ensure dispatchers review site requirements for timing, location, volume, material type, equipment needs, priority, customer impact, and completeness before committing resources.
- Prioritize internal trucks, and third-party haulers based on operational urgency, schedule constraints, cost impact, customer commitments, and site readiness.
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers, brokers, field leaders, and customers by confirming availability, pickup windows, delivery requirements, broker readiness, hauler compliance, and service expectations before execution begins.
- Monitor planned versus actual execution, support the Dispatcher(s) during material or equipment exceptions, step in as dispatch backup when required, and make escalation decisions when changes materially affect site productivity, cost, customer service, or schedule reliability.
- Support, lead, and develop the dispatch team so the group improves its daily execution, communication discipline, service quality, and readiness for future growth.
- Ensure truck tracking requirements are built into the plan, including driver check-ins, GPS compliance expectations, ticket upload requirements, documentation standards, and data quality needed to measure performance.
- Track haulage performance through practical KPIs, identify drift early, review the cause of recurring misses, and recommend corrective actions that improve cost, service, productivity, reliability, and customer experience.
- Work with business units to ensure timecard audits, missing tickets, unmatched transactions, invoice discrepancies, broker documentation, and AP/AR readiness are addressed daily.
- Maintain visibility to recurring defects, system issues, broker training gaps, missing information, customer concerns, and process failures through a shared issue log, and resolve service or conflict issues in real time where possible.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation platform support, and administrative teams.
- Identify bottlenecks, reduce repeat defects, improve planning discipline, strengthen broker compliance, improve customer service outcomes, recommend staffing or process adjustments when daily backlog cannot be cleared, and remain accountable for the overall performance of the haulage function.
- Help the company achieve best in class customer service for our customers and partners
- Support the business in growth and improvement projects as a subject matter expert
