To help us deliver our medical image analysis solutions to large clinical trials we are hiring a dedicated Imaging Applications Engineer on a permanent full-time capacity.

Purpose of the Role:

This role is focused on supporting our pharma clients’ clinical trial projects by implementing and deploying production-grade medical imaging data processing and analysis solutions within our proprietary IXICO data management platform. The job holder is experienced in the medical image domain and is responsible for executing the configuration of IXICO platform(s) in accordance with project requirement specifications, and for the design, development, validation and deployment of bespoke image analysis workflow features that are required for an allocated portfolio of projects.

The job holder works hand-in-hand with Analysis Product, Image Analyst, Biomarker Science and Technology teams to ensure that requirement specifications are fully and clearly documented, implemented, and tested at project start-up, meeting project start-up timelines agreed with IXICO’s Project Managers. The role further supports Project Managers with defining and implementing features to fulfil workflow change requests arising during a clinical trial project.

As part of the Technology team, the role holder is responsible for supporting internal users with data processing and analysis issue resolution and contributes to continuous process improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the configuration and deployments of clinical trials on the IXICO platform, including change controls and corrections to existing studies.
  • Receive handover of processing and analysis pipelines from Science and Technology and manage these to completion in operational deployments.
  • Design and develop, validate and deploy allocated image processing and analysis features and workflows to the IXICO platform.
  • Support Project Managers in defining solutions for projects within an allocated portfolio, creating clear and complete requirements specifications.
  • Provide second line support for processing and analysis pipelines, maintaining ticketing for IXICO platform support.
  • Work closely with Research, Technology and Development teams on best practices and process improvements.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum team and promote continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain necessary documentation, compliant with IXICO procedures and quality framework.

Qualifications and skills required for the role:

Essential

  • Masters/Postgraduate degree from an accredited educational institution in a technical discipline e.g., Computer Science/Compute Vision/Medical Imaging.
  • Experience in at least one medical imaging modality (e.g. MRI, PET) and relevant image analysis.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Proven experience in programming using scripting languages (Bash/Python).
  • Proven experience of Linux/Unix command line.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Database concepts and technologies (RDBMS/SQL/PostgreSQL).
  • Understanding of Object-Orientated development.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills across all levels of the business – fluent in the English language.
  • Strong organisational skills and great attention for detail.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong team-player, who is acting in a professional and personable manner.
  • Highly motivated and driven to improve and develop processes.

Desirable

  • Commercial or Academic experience in the neuroscience domain.
  • Knowledge of GCP, ISO13485, ISO27001 and/or other similar quality systems.
  • Understanding of Design Patterns.
  • Understanding of Agile concepts.
  • Knowledge of Git and DevOps.
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
