Image data is interrogated by the Platform and IXICO's expert scientists translating complex data into clinically meaningful insights while minimizing data variability and increasing reproducibility.

To help us deliver our medical image analysis solutions to large clinical trials we are hiring an experienced and passionate Test Engineer to join our dynamic team on a permanent full‑time capacity.

Purpose of the Role

The Test Engineer role is involved across a range of activities, including the evaluation of requirements, the development of test cases, execution of test scripts, and supporting subject matter experts in the completion of testing. The role holder also contributes to the continuous improvement of testing processes and the automation of testing activities. Working within an Agile environment, the role holder supports the deployment and enhancement of IXICO’s flagship clinical trial management and medical image analysis platform, enabling the business to deliver imaging and digital biomarker analytical services for clinical development.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IXICO’s Developers, Scientists and Business Analysts to design tests.
  • Generate test ideas and heuristics.
  • Identify and provide feedback on the gap/anomalies in the requirements.
  • Analyse results of test sessions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in a technical discipline e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Science or an exceptional candidate with experience.
  • Ability to create exploratory tests from stories/requirements.
  • Ability to work through problems with minimal supervision.
  • Good working knowledge of Claude Code or similar AI‑assisted coding tools to support efficient test design, investigation and automation.
  • Familiarity with Playwright for automated end‑to‑end and regression testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to understand complex problems in order to develop more nuanced and effective test scenarios.
  • Acts as an advocate for good testing practices and continuously looks for opportunities to improve quality processes and ways of working.
  • Proven experience of executing software testing with minimal supervision.
  • Working with Linux command line tools.
  • Identifying tasks, dependencies and risks during backlog grooming.
  • Providing reasonable test estimates.
  • Working on Agile projects.
