About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Shopify Theme Engineer / Front-End Engineer to join our team, working on end-to-end eCommerce solutions for a global client. You will design, develop, and optimize Shopify storefronts while integrating with complex backend systems.
Location: London, UK β Hybrid
Contract Type: Contract - Inside IR35
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Shopify storefronts, leveraging Liquid and modern front-end technologies.
- Work with Shopify Hydrogen (React) to build custom, high-performance, headless storefronts (nice-to-have).
- Build end-to-end eCommerce solutions integrating OMS, IMS, WMS, payment processing, tax engines, and digital distribution.
- Implement scalable, maintainable, and automated front-end solutions using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind, and Node.js.
- Collaborate in Agile teams with TDD, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), and automated testing (Playwright).
- Utilize APIs, webhooks, and best practices to ensure smooth data flows and integration.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, optimization, and automation.
Requirements:
- 10+ years in software development with a strong front-end focus.
- Solid Shopify experience β Liquid expertise required.
- Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES2019+), and design patterns.
- Familiarity with Shopify Hydrogen / React is a plus.
- Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks, and system integration.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, automated testing frameworks, and Agile development.
