Working as a partnership, both Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust have a shared vision for excellence in care for our patients and communities; with a set of strategic aims underpinning how we will achieve this. The single corporate service is delivered across both organisations. You may be based at either IWT or PHU and individuals may be required to undertake business travel between sites. For leaders managing staff across multi-site locations, you will need to be visible and provide in person leadership. The arrangements and frequency will be agreed locally.

Job purpose
The post holder will work as a technical specialist role supporting the Enterprise Architect in the development of effective, efficient and fully integrated systems to manage devices, users, collaboration environments and help develop the operational services that maximise their availability and integrity for end-users and optimise the value gained by the Trust from its investment in IT. Additionally, the post holder will be required to provide second and third line support to our service desk and provide technical expertise to support the development of the networks, telephony, network security, clinical and corporate applications.
The post will report to the Enterprise Architects, working closely with colleagues within Technical Delivery, and across Technical Services and Service Delivery, to support and maintain optimal operation of the Trust’s clinical and business systems.
Job summary
- Manage, maintain, optimise and develop our user and devices within MS Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Enterprise Configuration Manager and across the M365 collaboration environment.
- Maintain personal and professional development to meet the rapidly evolving requirements of MS Windows and M365 in both private and NHS shared tenant contexts.
- Participate in appropriate training activities, attend development and road map briefings and encourage and support staff development and training.
- Help to maximise the use and optimisation of our users, devices, collaboration environments, software applications and licensing.
- Participate in a rota system for on-call services.
- Provide support across Digital and work as SME for Technical Projects.
- Work with Cyber Security Team to ensure secure configurations, device and software application updates.
- Other tasks as directed by the Enterprise Architect and Technical Delivery Manager.
Travel between health sites will be required, Travel to conferences, seminars and supplier presentations will be required, and on occasions staying away from home would be required.
Degree level qualification or equivalent in computing or related field
Technical Accreditation in one or more of the following:
- Microsoft MCP/MCSA/MCSE
- Citrix CCA
- VMware VCP
Evidence of continuing professional development
ITIL v3 Foundation
