This is a precision data delivery role — not a dashboarding or engineering position. You will own one of IWSR’s core data products end-to-end: ingesting, processing, and distributing it on a monthly cadence to senior external clients, while driving its ongoing modernisation. If you are energised by accurate, high-stakes data work — where getting it right every time genuinely matters — this role is built for you.
Please note: if your experience is primarily in Azure Data Factory, Databricks pipelines, or Power BI dashboard development, this role is unlikely to be a strong fit.
About IWSR: IWSR is the world’s leading source of data and intelligence on the global beverage alcohol market — trusted by Diageo, Pernod Ricard, AB InBev, private equity, and governments across 160+ markets. Now part of the WGSN group, we combine deep industry expertise with a fast-growing, collaborative team culture headquartered in central London.
What you’ll do:
- Own and deliver a dedicated data product on a monthly cycle — from raw ingestion through to client-ready output.
- Migrate Excel-based processes to SQL-based operations, dashboards, and scalable delivery frameworks.
- Troubleshoot and triage data quality issues with diligence and precision.
- Act as the primary point of contact for senior internal and external stakeholders on your product.
- Collaborate with data scientists and senior analysts to implement data-driven solutions.
- Document processes and implement best practices across the Data Delivery team.
- Keep pace with advances in data processing, analytics, and AI to continuously modernise delivery.
Essential skills – you must have these:
- Advanced Excel & VBA — evidenced in practice, not just listed on a CV.
- SQL — SQL Server, PostgreSQL or equivalent — querying, extraction, modelling, and manipulation of large datasets.
- Proven track record of owning recurring analytical outputs and delivering them accurately under deadline pressure.
- Comfortable working with large, repetitive datasets where precision is non-negotiable.
- Confident engaging senior internal and external stakeholders; able to translate data into clear business language.
Qualification:
Degree-level qualification in mathematics, statistics, data, or a numeric discipline. Applications without demonstrated Advanced Excel (VBA/Macros) and SQL experience will not be progressed.
Advantageous — these will strengthen your application:
- Python for data processing and automation (Pandas, NumPy).
- Experience in FMCG, market research, data intelligence, or commercial analytics environments with ETL design and tooling.
- Dashboard creation — Excel, Tableau, or equivalent front-end delivery.
- Knowledge of data warehouse fundamentals (star schemas, dimensional modelling).
- Familiarity with Databricks or cloud data platforms.
- Experience mentoring or developing junior analysts.
Benefits:
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and a company-wide end‑of‑year break.
- Hybrid working with flexible hours from our central London office and a 3‑week work‑from‑anywhere policy each year.
- Private medical insurance, pension, and regular social events.
- Strong learning and development opportunities within IWSR and WGSN.
- Access to a 24-hour employee assistance programme.
