Role overview: The IWSR Consumer Data Team is the heart of the IWSR Group’s world-leading consumer behaviour and attitude insights offering. In 2025, this team was responsible for designing, collecting and analysing over 250,000 interviews about consumer drinking habits in around 34 consumption markets around the world. The Senior Research Analyst will play a critical role in delivering IWSR’s world-leading quantitative consumer research. Sitting within a close-knit Consumer Data team, this role acts as one of the quantitative leads on consumer data projects, owning the technical execution of research cycles from survey build through to data delivery. The role requires strong technical capability, confidence in stakeholder management, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple concurrent research cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the quantitative lead on assigned consumer data projects, owning the technical execution from survey build through to final data delivery, and working closely with the Head of Consumer Data on operational alignment.
- Execute end-to-end quantitative research tasks including survey programming, fieldwork coordination, data cleaning, weighting and creation of final deliverables (e.g. Excel tables, databases, dashboards) for internal and external use.
- Analyse and quality-check large, complex datasets in a market research context to ensure accuracy, consistency and robustness.
- Conduct desk research where required to support quantitative outputs and provide context for tracking and syndicated data.
- Lead questionnaire scripting, testing and deployment using Forsta Surveys (Decipher) or equivalent platforms, and liaise directly with external panel providers during fieldwork.
- Design and implement complex quota structures and apply best-practice approaches to representative consumer sampling.
- Collaborate day-to-day with internal stakeholders and the wider Consumer Data team to deliver high-quality outputs across multiple concurrent research cycles.
- Drive continuous improvement within the Consumer Data Team by contributing to process reviews and leading innovation initiatives through to delivery, in collaboration with the Consumer Survey Data Manager.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Significant experience in quantitative market or consumer research, particularly large-scale, survey-based research.
- Demonstrable experience liaising directly with panel providers, including survey management, fieldwork oversight and issue resolution.
- Strong understanding of best practices and end-to-end workflows in representative consumer research, including sampling approaches, quota design, survey launches, weighting and data quality control.
- Proficiency in Forsta Surveys (Decipher) or an equivalent survey programming platform.
- Proficiency in either SPSS or Q Research (or equivalent data tabulation software), with confidence handling large and complex datasets.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence working directly with a range of internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capability.
- Proactively seeks improvements to quantitative methodologies and processes.
Desirable:
- Proficiency in both SPSS and Q Research.
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying, validating or extracting data from structured databases, and for supporting large-scale data analysis workflows.
- Exposure to automation or scripting tools such as Python, VBA, macros or similar.
- Familiarity with dashboards or structured data delivery formats.
- Experience working in global or multi-market consumer research environments.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS or JavaScript.
- Active interest in AI utilisation and platforms.
