Role Overview

We are seeking maternity cover for a position within IWSR's Insights team. IWSR produces a number of Strategic Reports each year, providing in‐depth analysis of major industry trends across areas such as ready‐to‐drink, No & Low alcohol, and eCommerce, alongside deep dives into specific categories and channels. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of high‐quality editorial content, design, and production, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and impact. We are looking for an articulate, analytically minded professional – ideally with a background in the social sciences – who demonstrates excellence in data interpretation, writing, and strong organisational and logistical planning skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of the consumer‐focused element of strategic reports.
  • Support client‐facing outputs, including queries, pitches, presentations, and custom analyses.
  • Coordinate tasks between research teams, production, and product leads.
  • Design and write questionnaires, analysis plans, and reports.
  • Analyse large‐scale quantitative data sets using Excel.
  • Summarise consumer and market data trends into clear, insightful narratives.
  • Proactively identify and support efficiencies within syndicated processes and deliverables.

Skills & Experience

  • First‐hand knowledge and understanding of market or social research practices and techniques, either in an academic or commercial context.
  • Excellent working knowledge of quantitative analysis techniques and principles.
  • Ability and confidence to translate research findings into actionable business decisions.
  • Superior organisational skills, strong multi‐tasking.
  • Ability to liaise and collaborate with different stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills, including ability to adapt management style to different team members.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Advanced abilities in PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work to a high standard when under pressure.

The following are not required but would be advantageous:

  • First‐hand experience in the beverage alcohol industry in a research role.
  • WSET qualifications or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Power Query, Q statistical analysis software.
  • Market Research Society Advanced Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience managing and communicating with senior management in a research role.
