Role overview

The IWSR Consulting Team is key to delivering IWSR Group’s world‑leading consumer behaviour and attitude insights offering. In 2025, over 250,000 interviews about consumer drinking habits were collected in around 34 consumption markets around the world. Our clients’ needs in understanding how consumers behave is integral to their strategic planning and Consulting Team is responsible for delivering on this.

Job Details

The role is a maternity cover from mid‑March until the beginning of September 2026. We are seeking a Data Analyst who covers principally the French region. The role will involve a structured handover period and responsibility for ensuring continuity of delivery and client relationships throughout the maternity cover period. The successful candidate will be an articulate and capable individual, who speaks both English and French fluently, and who has experience in end to end research consulting. They will possess demonstrable excellence in project management and data analysis. They will subsequently be able to convert this analysis into compelling visualisation and narrative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing day‑to‑day project delivery across assigned French client projects, including timelines, inputs, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary day‑to‑day point of contact for French‑speaking clients, managing written and verbal communication in French across live projects.
  • Designing and writing questionnaires, analysis plans and reports.
  • Conducting qualitative interviews with market experts and/or consumers.
  • Analysing large quantitative data sets in Excel and/or qualitative interviews.
  • Summarising data trends into a narrative that is both succinct and impactful.
  • Supporting Project Directors, especially the Head of France, in delivering high‑level deliverables and debriefing these to clients.
  • Improving team efficiencies through process and technical advancement.
  • Positively contributing to wider team needs.

Skills & Experience

Essential skills:

  • Fluency in English and French – both spoken and written.
  • First‑hand commercial experience in data analysis.
  • First‑hand knowledge and understanding of market or social research practices and techniques.
  • Good experience of quantitative analysis techniques and principles.
  • Good experience of qualitative analysis techniques and principles.
  • Ability and confidence to translate research findings into actionable insight to support business decisions.
  • Ability to identify context and drivers to trends that are found in the data and articulate them succinctly.
  • Advanced abilities in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills in English.

Soft skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills across multi‑functioning teams.
  • Superior organisational skills, strong multi‑tasking ability across multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Bev‑Alc, Drinks, Food or FMCG industry experience.
  • Fluency in any of the following foreign languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Mandarin, Japanese.
  • Proficiency in SPSS or Q statistical analysis software.
  • Market Research Society Advanced Certificate or equivalent.
  • Exposure to or interest in the practical application of AI tools in research, synthesis, or delivery.
