IWS Water Hygiene (WH), a division of South Staffordshire Plc, provides services in all aspects of water hygiene and legionella control, including risk assessments for the public sector, utility companies, industrial, commercial, and retail customers. The Role:
Installation of Water Treatment Equipment:
- Managing the complete installation of water treatment equipment at client sites, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to specifications and client scope.
- Positioning and securing equipment according to site plans and manufacturer instructions.
- Connecting equipment to existing plumbing and electrical systems.
- Testing the installed equipment to verify proper operation and performance.
- Providing training to client personnel on the operation and maintenance of the newly installed equipment.
- Completing all necessary documentation, including completion reports.
- Managing the installation site, ensuring a safe and organized work environment in line with IWS health and safety policies.
- Good coordination and communication with the client and IWS treatment team.
Routine Service And Maintenance Of Equipment:
- Performing preventative maintenance tasks
- Inspecting equipment and undertaking routine service
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems when issues arise with a flexible and responsive approach
- Repairing or replacing defective parts and components as part of service provisions
- Adjusting and calibrating equipment to maintain optimal performance
- Maintaining accurate service records, documenting all maintenance activities, repairs, and part replacements
- Advising clients on and supporting training on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures
- Managing inventory of spare parts and supplies for supported call-outs and first-time fixes.
Site Surveys And Technical Analysis:
- Visiting client sites to evaluate existing water treatment systems and assess water quality and non-conformance issues
- Collecting water samples and performing on-site tests to support installed equipment validation
- Supporting in determining the appropriate type and size of water treatment equipment needed
- Collecting information to support preparing detailed proposals and technical reports outlining recommended solutions, including equipment specifications, cost estimates, and installation plans
- Consulting with clients to discuss findings and recommendations
- Staying up to date on the latest water treatment technologies and solutions in conjunction with the Treatment Team
What You’ll Need:
- Hold a recognised plumbing qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 2, or demonstrable plumbing skills and experience comparable to NVQ Level 2 standards
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the water treatment industry and working on treatment systems (steam, cooling, pre-treatment, water softeners, etc.)
- Certified in Legionella awareness and control with a recognised Legionella qualification (City & Guilds, IOSH, Water Management Society, etc.)
