IWS Water Hygiene (WH) is a division of South Staffordshire Plc that provides services in all aspects of water hygiene and legionella control. Services include legionella risk assessments for the public sector, utility companies, industrial, commercial and retail customers.
We are investing in the next phase of expansion for our Water Treatment Division and are looking for a strategic and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to take a high‐performing team and proven service capability to new heights.
Responsibilities
- Identify and win new business opportunities across multiple sectors including pharma, facilities management, and industrial end users.
- Develop a pipeline of qualified leads through networking, outreach, referrals, and industry research.
- Present tailored technical solutions for cooling towers, steam boilers, process water, pre‐treatment systems, and water softeners.
- Analyse client challenges and propose best‐fit solutions backed by expert service delivery.
- Build lasting relationships with key decision‐makers — including plant managers, facilities teams, and procurement leads.
- Work closely with the technical and operational teams to ensure seamless onboarding and client satisfaction.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
What You'll Need
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the water treatment industry, with working knowledge of key systems (e.g. cooling, steam, softeners).
- Proven success in business development or sales, preferably within a technical or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of industrial water treatment and its impact on process efficiency and compliance.
- Ability to grasp technical concepts quickly and translate them into commercial value for clients.
- Experience in developing relationships and managing a sales cycle from prospect to close.
- A recognised Legionella qualification (City & Guilds, IOSH, Water Management Society etc.) is advantageous.
What You'll Get In Return
- Salary: £40,000 – £65,000 DOE.
- OTE: £100,000+ with uncapped commission.
