Here at the IWS Group we are looking to expand our warehouse team by recruiting for a new operative at our Billingshurst site.

The role involves preparing materials specific to customer requirements, whilst working alongside the company's order and stock control system.

The Warehouse Operative will also complete occasional local site deliveries and general housekeeping duties.

Our Billingshurst site is known for being the largest trade-only supplier of storage solutions in the UK.

Combining high quality, reliable products with unmatched support, we work exclusively with the trade, offering great trade discounts and high-quality products covering everything from small part picking to industrial racking.

This is a permanent role, working 38.5 hours per week within a close knit friendly team.

All training will be provided by the company where required, to include external qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, identify, mark and place materials sent to the warehouse, informing the Warehouse Team Leader for stock recording purposes.
  • Prepare materials according to customer requirements, to include alterations, the building of systems/products and transportation labels/paperwork.
  • Carry out the loading and unloading of materials from vehicles and pallet racking, in a safe manner, ensuring that all changes are recorded within the stock control system.
  • Report any stock issues to ensure that levels are maintained and coordinate with Warehouse Team Leader on upcoming projects.
  • Ensure all relevant RAMS are adhered to along with all other health and safety rules.
  • Complete local site deliveries as and when required.
  • Ensure all necessary safety checks are completed prior to work commencing, to include but not limited to, PPE and work/access equipment.
  • Ensure warehouse environment is kept at high standards for safety, storage efficiency and housekeeping, reporting any issues.
  • Assist the Warehouse Team Leader with routine health and safety checks within the warehouse i. e. Fire Walks.
  • Double check picks/work carried out by your team members prior to dispatch.
  • Carry out weekly/monthly stock checks and counts, liaising with the Operations Manager on any discrepancies.
  • Carry out on site learning to build on skills and knowledge of the industry to pursue personal development.
  • Attend team meetings to review the department’s schedule and KPI’s.

  • Good standard of general education backed by a track record of continuing professional development.
