About the Role We are looking for an experienced Job Evaluation Analyst to join our HR, Workforce and Organisational Development team.
You will play a key role in ensuring roles across the organisation are evaluated fairly, consistently, and in line with recognised job evaluation frameworks.
Working with managers, HR colleagues and Trade Union representatives, you will assess new and existing roles, provide expert advice on job evaluation, and support the delivery of fair pay and grading decisions.
Key Responsibilities Carry out job evaluations using the NJC (National Joint Council) and Hay Guide Chart job evaluation schemes.
Review job descriptions, job evaluation questionnaires (JDQs) and supporting evidence.
Assess grading appeals and provide evidence-based recommendations.
Present evaluation findings to Job Evaluation Panels where required.
Provide advice and guidance to managers and HR colleagues on job evaluation processes.
Respond to queries relating to job evaluation outcomes and grading decisions.
Maintain accurate records and audit trails for all evaluations.
Support the continuous improvement of job evaluation processes and documentation.
Assist in pay and reward projects across the organisation.
Build positive working relationships with managers, HR teams and Trade Union representatives.
Support and mentor trainee Job Evaluation Analysts where appropriate.
Deputise for the Senior Job Evaluation/Quality Assurance role when required.
What We're Looking For Essential Experience carrying out job evaluations using NJC and/or Hay methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience interpreting job descriptions and evaluating complex information.
Ability to work independently while managing a varied workload.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Confident using Microsoft Office and HR systems.
Experience providing advice and guidance to managers and stakeholders.
Desirable Experience within a Local Authority or Public Sector organisation.
Knowledge of Equal Pay legislation and employment law.
Experience supporting pay and reward projects.
Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues.
Qualifications GCSEs/A Levels (or equivalent experience).
Formal training in Hay Guide Chart and NJC Job Evaluation methodologies.
