Overview

As manda’s first marketing hire, you will build our growth engine to reach business owners considering selling.

You’ll create channels, test cost-effective strategies, and own the budget while collaborating with iwoca’s credibility and data infrastructure.

You’ll shape how sellers and buyers discover manda, turn website visitors into applicants, and help transform a two-sided marketplace into a scalable, evidence-based growth engine.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and test direct channels (paid search, paid social, organic, direct response) and discontinue non-viable ones
  • Own budget allocation and prioritize high-impact channels with fast learning
  • Write and optimize copy for ads and landing pages; iterate based on owner responses
  • Test offline approaches (mail, email) and evaluate their impact
  • Earn trade press coverage to generate inbound interest
  • Establish unit economics by measuring CPA per seller mandate per channel
  • Define lead value and conversion proxy for long sales cycles
  • Set up attribution and reporting to trace customers to the contributing channel
  • Turn the manda website into a higher-converting asset, clarifying the process and differentiation
  • Support acquisition of credible buyers post-seller supply expansion
  • Collaborate with product/engineering on conversion steps you don’t own
  • Operate with a bias for action in an early-stage venture with ambiguity
  • Key requirements
  • 4+ years in acquisition, growth or generalist marketing in startup/scale-up/new venture
  • M&A, marketplace or two-sided experience with supply constraints
  • Comfort with long, low-frequency, high-value conversions
  • Numerate and data-literate; owns measurement and funnels
  • Hands-on approach; writes copy, briefs pages, sets up tracking, pulls reports
  • Experience driving applications or sign-ups into a live product journey
  • Commercial thinker with ability to navigate ambiguity in a start-up
  • Bonus: regulated/financial services marketing, offline direct response, and direct mail
