As an FP&A Analyst, you will translate complex financial data into useful management information and produce annual budgets aiding long-term planning and growth.
The FP&A team is responsible for driving strategic decision making through forecasting, analysis, and reporting on performance. You'll work closely with the FP&A Manager and collaborate with the wider finance team, as well as other functions across iwoca including capital markets and strategy. This role offers real ownership from early on and direct exposure to senior stakeholders and the Board.
We are building a fast-paced FP&A function, powered by better data and optimising the tools available. You will take ownership of writing queries, building datasets and pipelines, and helping shape our forecasting platform while learning the financial planning side to understand the numbers.
Operational FP&A Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the monthly operating model, including reconciliations to accounting software and posting of journals required to complete the model.
- Contribute to and improve forecasting methodology.
- Assist in preparation of monthly Board documentation and interim and year-end Budget documents.
- Liaise with departments across the business to understand developments and their impact on inputs to the operating model.
- Identify inconsistencies between operating model forecasts and those used by the wider business to improve reporting accuracy.
- Understand reporting requirements for each department to enhance communication quality across the business.
Reporting to External Stakeholders:
- Writing SQL to pull, clean, and reconcile financial and operational data from across the business, building datasets and pipelines that feed our operating model and reporting.
- Finding and fixing weak points in data processes, moving reporting off manual processes onto automated systems.
- Contributing to the build-out of iwoca's forecasting platform, designing features and using AI tools to enhance efficiency.
- Integrating with third-party tools such as Looker, Snowflake, and NetSuite.
Requirements:
- Proficient user of Excel and SQL.
- Experience building end-to-end solutions — a pipeline, dataset, or automated report.
- Comfortable working with data from multiple sources and confident tracing it back to the source.
- Willingness to leverage AI tools with sound judgement.
- Some exposure to management accounts, forecasting, or budgeting, or a genuine appetite to learn.
- A growth mindset, happy to own problems and build solutions.
- Experience with Python, Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery, Looker, Power BI, or Tableau is desirable.
- A finance qualification such as CIMA, ACA, or ACCA, or a background in commercial FP&A is desirable but not required.
- Experience at a start-up or scale-up where you had to build things yourself is desirable.

At iwoca, we prioritise a culture of learning, growth, and support, investing in the development of our team members. We value thought and skill diversity, encouraging exploration of new areas of interest and adoption of better tools.
Office Environment:

- Flexible working hours.
- Medical insurance from Vitality, including discounted gym membership.
- A choice between a dedicated dental plan or a health cash plan.
- A private GP service for you and your dependents.
- 25 days’ holiday per year, an extra day off for your birthday, and options for additional leave.
- A one-month fully paid sabbatical after four years.
- Access to external counselling and therapy sessions.
- 3% Pension contributions on total earnings.
- An employee equity incentive scheme.
