We’re looking for a Product Builder. You’ll own the technology platform for manda – iwoca's new SME Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) venture. You’ll move at founder pace, with the infrastructure and resources of an established fintech company behind you.

Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don’t wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that’s as flexible and responsive as they are. That’s why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it’s needed. We’ve already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive.

The venture manda is iwoca’s newest venture: an SME M&A platform that matches business owners looking to sell with credible, prequalified buyers – and provides acquisition finance where needed. There are plenty of advisers for billion‑pound transactions, but almost no one serves the SME end of the market well. manda exists to change that, using iwoca’s network, data, and lending capability to make SME acquisitions faster and more accessible. Today, manda runs on manual workflows. Your job is to build the platform that changes that.

You’ll be the first dedicated technical hire on manda, working directly with the venture lead and a small deal team. The deal team owns the commercial relationships – qualifying sellers, matching buyers, managing transactions. You’ll sit close to that work, turning what you learn into product decisions. As the venture scales, you’ll help define how the technical team grows with it.

As Product Builder, you’ll design and ship the platform that takes manda from manual process to scalable product. You’ll be part product strategist, part hands‑on builder – using AI‑native tools and workflows to move at a pace that would normally require a much larger team.

Shape the product

  • Partner with the venture lead to translate mission, vision, and strategy into a prioritised roadmap.
  • Sit with the deal team to understand where the pain is, then turn operational friction into clear, pragmatic product scope.
  • Work with iwoca’s core business to ensure the manda customer journey integrates with existing systems.

Build and ship

  • Design and deliver features at startup speed, using AI tools to prototype, build, and iterate faster than a traditional team.
  • Contribute hands‑on to the codebase – Python, Django, TypeScript, React – setting the standard for code quality, testing, and performance.
  • Make pragmatic build‑vs‑buy decisions, integrating third‑party tools where they accelerate progress – HubSpot as the deal team’s primary CRM, for example.

Your first priorities

  • Seller onboarding: How do you take an SME from sign‑up to deal‑ready in days, not weeks? Build a lean qualification flow that uses iwoca’s existing data and systems, adding the bespoke elements manda needs.
  • Data augmentation: iwoca’s data infrastructure is built for credit. Design the ingestion and integration of new data sources – navigating PII and data governance along the way – so manda can make better M&A‑specific decisions and eventually automate them.
  • Deal management: Set up and integrate HubSpot as the primary CRM for deal tracking, connected to core systems, giving the deal team a single source of truth.

The requirement

  • Essential
  • Product and engineering: You have experience in product management and software engineering, with the ability to ship features independently across a modern web stack (our stack: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React).
  • AI fluency: You actively use AI coding tools – such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar – to write code, automate repeatable work, and accelerate delivery.
  • Builder experience: You have worked in an early‑stage or 0‑to‑1 environment, making pragmatic build‑vs‑buy decisions and shipping under real constraints.
  • Product judgement: You can translate operational friction into clear product scope, working directly with the people closest to the problem, and know when to simplify.
  • Communication: You communicate technical detail clearly to commercial and non‑technical stakeholders, in writing and in person.
  • Curiosity and experimentation: You actively seek out new tools and ways of working and test them before you’re asked to.

Bonus

  • Systems architecture: You have experience designing and managing complex domain models.
  • Integrations: You have hands‑on experience with third‑party integrations, especially CRMs such as HubSpot.
  • Domain knowledge: You have a background in M&A technology, marketplace platforms, or M&A brokerage.
  • Data familiarity: You are comfortable working with data analytics or imperfect financial data.
  • SME context: You understand SME business models and transaction dynamics in the ÂŁ500k–£10m enterprise‑value range.

The salary

We expect to pay from £80,000 to £130,000 for this role. But, we’re open‑minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.

We prioritise learning and growth, and give people the autonomy to develop in the direction that makes them most effective. We’re a tech company and believe in the power of AI to help us work faster and better. We provide the infrastructure where every iwocan always has access to the best models, and where those models have access to all of our data. We will help our people learn how to use and grow with the new tools available to them.

The offices

We put a lot of effort into making iwoca a great place to work: Offices in London, Leeds, Berlin, and Frankfurt with plenty of drinks and snacks. Events and community‑led groups, including running groups, padel, and monthly ping‑pong and pool competitions.

The benefits
