We are hiring a Back-end Engineer to join the Repeats team. We are looking for a Back-end Engineer to design the scalable, high-performance services that allow us to rapidly test and deploy new product ideas for our repeat customers.
The company aims to empower small businesses with the financial tools they deserve. Since 2012, we have revolutionised how these businesses access finance, providing billions in funding to over 150,000 businesses across Europe.
The Repeats team is responsible for the lending strategy and digital user experience of our recurring customers. They own all product decisions after a customer has taken their first funding, including the user journey for repeat customers and eligibility requirements.
As a Back-end Engineer on the Repeats team, you will:
- Exercise autonomy: Own projects end to end, from scoping and design to execution.
- Drive impact: Enhance our offerings to meet the needs of repeat customers.
- Shape our systems: Design and maintain robust, flexible, and maintainable systems.
- Learn through iteration: Embrace a culture of experimentation.
- Apply continuous deployment: Work iteratively, supported by high test coverage.
- Unlock data-driven decision-making: Use hypothesis testing and metrics to optimise our approach.
We are striving to offer our customers flexibility while making the product easy to understand and use. Here are two examples of projects:
- Top-up eligibility: Optimising when customers can apply for more funds.
- Offer amount testing: Re-architecting our offer strategy by building and scaling the microservice that controls offer amounts.
Requirements:
- Essential: Experience in back-end engineering, ideally with Python.
- Proven experience leading projects end-to-end.
- Good understanding of business problems and communication with stakeholders.
- Experience writing comprehensive automated tests.
- Bonus: Understanding of data analysis and statistics.
- A strong numerical or technical background.
- Experience with Django and relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL).
The expected salary is from £70,000 - £90,000. We value a culture of learning, growth, and support, and invest in the professional development of our team members.
