About Us

Fast, flexible finance empowers small businesses to manage their cash flow better and seize opportunities – making their business and the economy stronger as a whole. At iwoca, we help businesses get the funds they need, when they need it, often within minutes. We’ve already made several billion in funding available to over 100,000 businesses since we launched in 2012, and positioned ourselves as a prospecting Fintech in Europe. Our mission is to finance one million businesses by combining cutting‑edge technology, data science and a 5‑star customer service.

Our Culture

We’re expanding fast across our offices in London, Leeds, Frankfurt and Berlin. With all this growth, we’re looking for people who want to learn on the job and prospect projects, knowing that your ideas will impact thousands of small businesses.

Your mission

As a Senior Business Development Executive, you’ll build a high‑quality pipeline of prospects and generate revenue by making outbound calls, booking meetings, following up with customers, advising on their best finance options, and closing deals. Each interaction with a potential new customer is unique and requires focus as well as solo thinking. How you manage your pipeline will make a significant difference in hitting your KPIs. If you are successful, there are substantial opportunities to develop in our growing team, both monetarily and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and nurturing a high‑quality prospect pipeline by making regular outbound calls, and occasionally dealing with inbound queries, always representing the company in a highly professional manner.
  • Listening, understanding and advising which of our finance options can help solve prospects’ challenges.
  • Identifying and qualifying prospects alongside the ones we have identified and initially qualified for you.
  • Communicating the iwoca value proposition in a precise and compelling way to help SMEs understand and make use of our loan products.
  • Going above and beyond in your efforts to hit and exceed your KPIs; this will enable us to beat growth targets.
  • Working as a team player and helping improve the overall success of this exciting part of the business.
  • Willingness to mentor and help junior colleagues improve their performance.

Requirements

  • At least 3‑5 years in sales roles, particularly in selling complicated products directly to decision makers.
  • Confident making cold outbound calls, thriving on speaking and connecting with business owners.
  • Highly motivated and excited by the challenge of exceeding targets.
  • Able to take on, and provide, quality feedback to power your own growth, as well as that of your teammates.
  • Organised and confident in managing a large pipeline of prospects, with deals at various stages in our process.
  • Ability to simplify and explain complex products in a way that customers with little experience in commercial financing can easily understand.
  • Resilient – you’ll take setbacks in stride and see value in the lessons they give you.
  • Empathetic – you need to understand and sympathise with the problems our customers face, and love helping people.

Don’t take this list as prescriptive; it’s just to give you a sense of who might do well at the job. We’d still love to hear from you if you don’t hit every point on the list, or if you have other experience.

Benefits

  • Offices in London, Leeds, Frankfurt.
  • Events and clubs – bingo, comedy nights, yoga classes, football, etc.
  • Two company retreats a year (France, Italy, Spain and further afield).
  • Plenty of drinks and snacks in our offices.
  • Medical insurance from Vitality, including discounted gym membership.
  • 25 days’ holiday, an extra day off for your birthday and the option to buy or sell an additional 5 days of annual leave.
  • Instant access to emotional and mental health support with our partner, Spill.
  • Share options.
  • Generous maternity and paternity leave.
  • A nursery tax benefit scheme to help you save money.
  • Paid volunteering day to support your chosen charity.
  • Extra leave if you want to travel or study.
  • One‑month fully paid sabbatical after 4 years.
  • Cycle‑to‑work scheme.
  • Electric car scheme.
  • An L&D budget for everyone, including a book budget.
