International Women’s Initiative (IWI) is an organisation which raises awareness of the threats to the human rights of women across the globe and promotes and assists in the achievement of gender equality. Since 2012, IWI has worked to eradicate and educate on human rights violations against women. We take our values very seriously and believe that we cannot one day have equality without transparency, collaboration, inclusiveness, integrity, or tenacity.

As an organisation which is run 100% by volunteers, we are looking for a HR Assistant who can help lead IWI while ensuring we remain true to our mission and goals.

Job Description:

  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Provide counselling on policies and procedures
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
  • Create and implement effective onboarding plans
  • Develop training and development programs
  • Assist in performance management processes
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Maintain employee records (attendance, HR data etc.) according to policy and legal requirements
  • Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Knowledge of HR functions (benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
  • Understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS is a plus
  • Outstanding organisational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
  • Strong ethics and reliability
  • BSc/BA in business administration, social studies or relevant field; further training will be a plus
  • HR Credentials (e.g. PHR from the HR Certification Institute)

Time Commitment: The minimum commitment is an average of 10 hours per week including a weekly one-on-one meeting with the supervisor.
