The Design Placement Intern will support the design team in creating workplaces that deliver exceptional customer experiences and generate positive commercial returns. This role involves assisting in centre design and fit-out, supporting the development and deployment of brands, and delivering fresh thinking and innovation to the creation of our brands globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of workplace interiors and furnishings across multiple brands, enhancing user experience and functionality for diverse customer segments.
- Shape the creation of innovative workplace environments and product solutions that embody IWG’s brand identity and support evolving workstyles.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to influence the spatial design and product selection that define our workplace offerings.
- Conduct research on workplace trends, materials, furniture systems, and user behavior to provide actionable insights that shape spatial and product design decisions.
- Generate forward-thinking concepts and design solutions that push boundaries in how people interact with their work environments and the tools within them.
- Contribute to design reviews and presentations, gaining practical experience in articulating workplace concepts and refining design strategies.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Genuine interest in design, particularly in the field of workplace design.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Product Design, or a related discipline.
- Experience in developing concepts and designs that effectively meet customer needs.
- Good understanding of user experience principles and how design can enhance customer satisfaction and a basic understanding of floorplans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Proactive and self-motivated, contributing meaningfully within a collaborative team.
