About the Role
As the Facilities Operations Manager, you will be the backbone of our clinic, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Your day–to–day responsibilities will include:
- Premises and Maintenance
- Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance across the building.
- Coordinating repairs to keep the clinic safe and fully functional.
- Scheduling maintenance activities to minimise disruption to patient care.
- Supplier, Vendor, and Contractor Management
- Managing relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure top–notch service.
- Maintaining accurate records of contracts and performance.
- Equipment and Asset Management
- Overseeing the servicing and repair of office and laboratory equipment.
- Maintaining an up–to–date asset register for smooth operations.
- Laboratory Environment Support
- Supporting laboratory environmental requirements and responding to critical alarms.
- Health and Safety
- Leading health and safety initiatives, including risk assessments and compliance.
- Promoting a strong safety culture among staff and visitors.
- Business Continuity and Compliance
- Developing plans for critical systems and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Administration and Procurement
- Providing administrative support and managing procurement to keep operations running seamlessly.
- Budget and Reporting
- Managing the facilities budget and reporting regularly on compliance and supplier performance.
Who You Are
You are a proactive and detail–oriented individual with:
- Experience in facilities or operations management within a healthcare or regulated environment.
- A strong track record of managing vendors and contractors efficiently.
- Hands–on maintenance experience and knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
- Budget management experience and a calm demeanour under pressure.
- A willingness to achieve IOSH Managing Safely certification during your probation period.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in a fertility clinic or CQC/HFEA regulated setting.
- NEBOSH certification or an engineering/facilities management background.
- Familiarity with cryogenic storage and controlled laboratory environments.
