Role

As an Asbestos Compliance Officer you will shape how asbestos is managed across our portfolio, ensuring all buildings comply with statutory obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site audits and inspections, updating the Technical Assurance Lead with findings.
  • Ensure asbestos labelling is accurate and up to date across sites.
  • Review and issue permits to work, support contract oversight, quality assurance, policy updates and statutory reporting.
  • Oversee migration of asbestos data from a previous database to WCC's CAFM system; review historic data, identify gaps and recommend improvements.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in surveying asbestos at BOHS P402 level or equivalent.
  • Preferred qualification in workplace health and safety at NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience with CDM Regulations 2015 and managing delivery survey programmes, re‑inspections, remedial works and asbestos contracts.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfortable with IT systems for monitoring and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and ability to work independently and in a team.
