Director of Estates and Campus Services

Nottingham Trent University

Competitive Salary

Nottingham Trent University is seeking an exceptional leader to shape the future of its physical environment, and deliver outstanding on‑campus services to students, colleagues and visitors.

The Director will provide clear strategic direction for the development, management and optimisation of a diverse portfolio across the full breadth of estates activity, from long‑term planning and capital development to the delivery of excellent campus services. This includes the continued development and enhancement of world‑class teaching and research facilities, the seamless integration of digital and physical infrastructure, ensuring we provide excellent customer focused services, and fostering a welcoming and safe environment for all who study, work and visit. The role also brings oversight of student accommodation, ensuring it remains high quality, accessible and aligned with the needs and wellbeing of NTU\’s diverse student community.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience of leading a complex estates function across multiple sites. They will demonstrate strength in strategic planning, customer orientation, commercial acumen and the ability to translate organisational priorities from development to operational delivery. A strong understanding of regulatory and statutory requirements will be essential, alongside experience of negotiating major contracts and working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and champion high performance, value for money and sustainability is central to the role.

NTU offers a powerful platform for this work. Over the past fifteen years, the university has invested more than GBP450 million across its five campuses, enabling the creation of sector‑leading facilities that support innovative teaching, research and industry collaboration. NTU is recognised for its vibrant environments, and on creating places that inspire ambition and support success. Each campus offers its own distinctive blend of historic architecture, cutting‑edge facilities and specialist spaces, spanning everything from digital arts and performance to science, technology and agriculture. This provides the Director with a rich foundation on which to build the next phase of NTU\’s estates and campus services strategy.

The closing date for applications is noon on Friday 9th January 2026.

NTU prides itself on being an inclusive employer and encourages applications from candidates who represent the diversity of our local communities and wider society.
